After Englishtown closes, I'm looking to head down to Atco to go run the LS there. See if I can snag those 2 tenths that Atco's usually good for compared to E-Town Probably looking at a Saturday morning, since by the time I get outta work on Fridays plus the drive and traffic it's too much of a PITA.
Anyone?

This Saturday morning?
Posted by: NYC LS8
Nah, was looking to get a group of Lincoln guys (whatever the car) and head down and make some runs. This Saturday is out for me.
Posted by: glanga
Let me know when. If I can then I definentely will. Plenty of Mark guys around here too.
Posted by: NYC LS8
Spread the word to them if you could. Would be cool to get a bunch of Lincoln nuts there all at once.
Probably looking at December some time. I'll be away the weekend following Thanksgiving, so that's out for me.

Did you want to do test & tune runs or grudge? Grudge and street is on fridays and t&t are usually on saturday/sundays. Hopefully Geno would be there, I want to see that Plymouth or supermark run.
I've been down there on Fridays before in my '87. Their street night was no different than E-Town's test and tunes. But I'd rather it be a Saturday morning because like I mentioned earlier, traffic and the time I get out of work makes it a pain in the balls to get down there at a reasonable time. Only drawback to Atco, for me, is that you can't get around the water box if you run street tires.

Tentative date: December 15th.

I will try to make it.

Thats a Saturday, no can do, gotta work Sat 15th
Posted by: NYC LS8
What about the 16th??? They have a test and tune that day, too.
Posted by: devilchild
i might be able to make it the 16th... 10 hr shift on sat.15th..no can do that day
Posted by: NickT88LSC
I got to switch my Saturday with a co worker, so I am in for the 15th, if it changes to 16 let me know so I can switch my Saturday back
Posted by: glanga
I can only do the 15th. Plans on the 16th.
Posted by: NYC LS8
Awesome, so we'll keep it as the 15th unless Mother Nature decides to rain or snow.
Posted by: brentalan
Just checking in...is this still on for Dec. 15th???
Posted by: NYC LS8
Yes, depending on the weather.
Posted by: brentalan
OK - what time exactly are you going and I'm still unclear if I need to bring a helmet or rent one. Thanks!!
Posted by: NYC LS8
They open at 10, so I'm shooting to leave here about 7:30-ish.
Yeah, I can't find anything on Atco's site about helmets. I forget to call while I'm at work.
Posted by: glanga
well my car blew another coil!!!!! so hopefully i can get that fixed before, otherwise im going to run with blown coils because i really dont care anymore.
Posted by: brentalan
Weather looks iffy at this point....I'll still try to go if the forecast changes.
I asked a friend about helmets and she says they do in fact rent them.
Posted by: NYC LS8
Yeah, I saw that about the weather. That would figure, right? I'll still be there provided it looks good. Probably call down to the track before I leave just to be safe.
Thanks for the heads-up on the helmets. I've been so damn busy this last week with this merger my company's going through that I haven't had the time.
Hopefully see everyone there Saturday.

as of right now... i might make an appearence...i have playoffs in my pool league at noon... so i may show up for a little and leave by 1030
Posted by: NYC LS8
Now it looks like there's not gonna be any snow, so I'm still planning on heading down there. Probably leave here about 7-ish. NickT won't be there, he's sick.
glanga - you still want that rear surround?
Posted by: glanga
Hey Nyc. Unfortunately no since I got rid of my car today. No longer a Lincoln owner. Picked up a Jeep Wrangler Sahara off a little old lady. haha
Posted by: NYC LS8
OK, good deal. Just wanted to make sure to bring it or not since I won't be home tonight.
Good luck with the Jeep.
Posted by: glanga
Thanks, good luck running tomorrow. Ill pray to the sunshine gods for you.

See you all in the morning!!!!

Back from Atco Raceway. Won't be going there again without a drag radial since you CANNOT get around the water box, and lightin' up the tires doesn't help get the water off as you can see by the short times. Still wound up with a better ET and a couple of 97mph passes.
11:08AM, checked in and ran it after an hour 45 minute ride there:
R/T - .261
60' - 2.302
330 - 6.307
1/8 - 9.535
MPH - 76.96
1000 - 12.309
1/4 - 14.682
MPH - 95.25
Was nice to meet brentalan. Sweet VIII you got there, man!! Sorry I bolted after I said I'd hang around. After that last run, the car did nothing but spin them because of the water box, so I decided to sit and wait for you. Then it seemed like someone broke because there was no action, so I wound up leavin'.
yeah.. i couldnt make it... im a little upset with myself...
wedding friday night.... got a little too drunk... and barely woke up intime for my pool league playoffs at noon.....
we lost anyway.... should have just went to the track
Spring is coming soon !!!

Nice to finally meet you NYC-LS8. Don't worry about missing me on the way out. I did a run or two more after we talked and the track was slippery at that point. I left shortly after you.
Thanks for the links to the pictures!!! They look awesome!
Nice runs, man. That car is haulin'! Well, for a slippery track that is

That one run at 1:10 was an anomally. Somehow I didn't spin at all on that one. All the other ones after 1:00 were terrible. I spun off the line and a lot on the 1-2 shift. It kicked sideways on most of them. those were all 14.3's and 4's
