Radiator hose and Heater hose

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

My heater or radiator hose broke, I think its the top one. How can I tell between the two? I am not car saavy so, this is all new to me. How hard is it to replace if I was to get somebody with atleast 30% car knowlege? I would like to know exactly how to replace these things instead of paying $400 to get it replaced from the dealership...

ps. Its hard finding the hoses around here, so could i possibly use explorer, expedition, or mountaineer hoses for this job? Let me know I need to get my aviator fixed ASAP... tHANKS

Radiator hose are usually the big 1 1/2 to 2 3/4 inches in diameter hoses heater hoses are much smaller maybe 1 inch or so.
