well a/c unit locked up,how to bypass well i have the diagram under the hood, and it shows the bypass, but the tensioner is too far down that the belt sits on the fan pulley.Any information on how to do this could be very helpful. thanks

Look for an AC delete pulley on eBay.

i know you can by pass the smog with a smaller belt but i think you need a ac eliminater pulley take a string and see if you can route without the ac pulley then take your mesurements to the store and get a serp belt

Not possible without an AC delete pulley, or the AC Eliminator kit that moves the power steering pump up to where the AC used to be.

isnt there a way to free up the ac pulley if it was me i would just get one at the boneyard if money was tight

ok so far ive found out that they make ac delete pulleys / ac bypass pulley for several automibles just not the Lincoln MarkVII,but i would imagine that one from another ford vehicle may work what do you think?

You should be able to use one made for a 5.0 Mustang.

with the mark vii look for mustang 5.0 parts try a 303 cam cobra intake its all compatiable just a heavier car with a different bolt pattern and air ride and some odd stuff

Thanks for all the replies and ideas everyone.I tore the ac clutch/pulley out yesterday and got a new one today and put it in.Those round locking mechanisms are a pain.So $100 and did the labor myself shes roarin and ready for the road.

One thing i still dont understand is it shows the bypass, which would require getting a shorter belt but it would still sit on the fan pulley? Then again Ford experimented alot on their autos.

its like a 70 something inch belt to bypass the smog pump i know
