What kind of quarter mile times?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

What kind of quarter mile times would i be looking at with 4.10 gears and a chip?

Posted by: driller

14.387+(5.0E-05*Density Altitude)

depends on who you get the chip/tune from! I would highly recomend a highly recomended SCT dealer along with a dyno tune. Also depends on elevation and other factors.

Would it be safe to say into the 14's for sure?

Posted by: jbird97

pretty sure yes

should be mid to low 14's.. depending on the driver

Low 14s, maybe a very high 13 in great air with great track prep and good tires (and a tailwind) and depending on this "tune."

I always hate it when people talk about a tune, 'getting a tune,' 'chip,' etc. It's not like a set of 4.10s, when you get a set of 4.10s you get a set of 4.10s. When you get a tune, you're getting a set of parameters that are only as good as the person who made the tune, and if it's a mail order tune it's even more variant...

You could be in the mid 14's with just an exhaust. My old car was running 14.4 with JUST a 2.5" exhaust all day long.

I was just down at the track about a week ago with chad (93hotrodlincoln or something like that) and he has a filter, msd wires, 4.10s and posi and hit 14.7 with a bit of spin. It wasnt a very good day, but either way its gonna be 14s. My car ran 14.9s with just a 2400 stall pritty much. It really depends on the condition of the car imo.
