I got a new problem now when I go to start my car tha engine rotates but will not start ...now im geting fire battery is band new and tha altenator is fine now when its 70 or 80 degs outside it starts right up what could this be ???

You need to check if you have fuel pressure. It could be the fuel pump or some fuel system problem if you have spark. If you have anything rolling around in the trunk it might be simple like the fuel pump cutoff switch getting knocked to the off position.

nawh thats not it at all any other ideas

cam and crank position sensors.. known problems on 4.6's (at least in the town cars)

Posted by: DaReal

this is a V8 ...... where are theses sensors can they be tested

Posted by: MichiganTeddyBear

I am not familiar with the 4.6 v8's, other than what I have read.

but intermittant no start, stalling has been traced to a bad crank sensor. dont know if they can be tested, but if you can find it (I imagine its pretty tightly squeezed in there on the conti's), try to clean the connector first. if that helps, then I would replace it.

I am sure there are other people here that have more knowledge of the 4.6 than I that can help more. I am just going with what I have read, and common sense. The 4.6 in the conti and in the TC are very similar (nearly the same, main differences are for the FWD vs RWD, and different heads)

If you search the forums here, you will find pictures posted of where the sensors are and discussions about them.
Regards,
Brad.
