went to the strip last week

my friend has a bonneville and is a member of a bonneville club, and asked me if i could help him out with a meet he was throwing, to help with tech stuff. well on sat we all went to the byron dragstrip, and i hit some best times (still stock 98 lsc)
first run was a HOT LAP my wife was driving the car home from work and i was waiting at the track and when she pulled up i pulled it onto the track, so that was a crappy time of 16.3

after a 1 hour cool down i hit a personal best against a "rough" tbird, who kept throwing out excuses, "i advanced the timing 3* so im gonna back it out" but i didnt see a tuner and it was a 4.6 so im calling BS, and my fav "i got 3 junk speaker boxes in the trunk" how about the ghetto box hooked up in the back seat

so after i did my victory dance from putting this kid in his place. i had another hour cool down, i got put up against a my buddy with the bird also has a 82 GMC truck that is becoming a drag truck, and uh he has BIG TIME traction issues

noticing a trend here? 2 15.169's, so having never bracket raced i had to figure what to put my dial in at.................so i decided to make it interesting and set it at 15.15, first run was against a lightly modified 01+ bonne sc

i was closer to my dial in but he finished first, without breaking out with a staggered start, but thats ok i didnt want to go to a bonneville meet and wipe the board (well maybe a little

I went up to Cordova erlier this year, but if you wanted to meet up at Byron sometime, I would drive up and race with ya. Ive been itchin to go back....
