overdrive switch?

i was wondering if anyone might of had the same problem im having....my over drive on off button/switch is not working....is there something i need to check or fix?

Remove the shifter bezel/trim and inspect the wiring to the shifter for wear.

my OD is not working either is there anything else beside a bad trans to prevent my OD from working??>switch,plug,sensor??

I just used a piece of speakerwire to splice onto the old thin wire, and it has worked for 2 years now

The reason the OD is not working especially in the 93 and 94 models is that ford used a very cheap thin wire to the OD switch. The shifting of the wire causes the wire to wear through. At least this is what I have learned. It is not because you have a bad tranny..

All you need is a new wire or to splice the wire back together.

This bad wire can blow a fuse too. Happened all too often in my 95. So if ya fix it, check the fuse also.
