question about wheels

I found some 18 inch wheels with a 5X108/5X110 bolt pattern and 40 offset. Will they fit the Mark VIII?

Width is key here. Also once you get into the +40 and more offset width as well as spoke design play a large role in fitment with regard to the brakes clearance in the fronts. There is a fair amount of latitude with the rears.

If you use a offset calculator then you can use a wheel that represents a maximum width and offset for a Mark or Tbird, whatever...For instance:

Max would be 9" wide w/+36mm offset and makes a good barometer for other wheel fitments. So....

Say you have a 8.5" wide wheel with a +42MM offset...Lets compare the two with regard to inner & outter clearance.

INNER CLEARANCE would be THE SAME
Outer clearance would retract (In the wheel-well) 12MM

Make sense??
