if i need to replace m alt. can i use ANY Ford alt i.e. Mustang ,crown vic,conti,town car, let me know, its about 280.00 from ford minus discount.

No, you can't use the SOHC alternator, its too wide. I had a 200 amp alternator from a P71 Crown Vic, and it would fit. Fordpartsnetwork.com has the 130A DOHC alternator for $250. The Mark VIII one is 120A and $350, so seek out a Cobra alternator to save money and gain more amps...

The part number for the cobra DOHC 130AMP alt is F6ZZ-10V346-BRM an lists for $226.67 plus a $60.00 core charge. Your LVC price is $156.40 plus the $60.00 core for a total of $216.40 Send the mark alt back in the same box and get your $60.00 back!!

WOW...cool, not sure i'll need one right away, but i had a scare a couple months ago, my batt light would come on then go out when accelerating, then it stopped no problem since only lasted a couple days...BTW I work at a ford dealer, even with my discount i cant touch that price what gives?,i should complain to parts

Seriously You should be able to get a better price at your dealer...we get 10 over for employees plus TAX....you will pay tax there and none through me if you are outside Arizona!! Then freight plays a part and may cancell out the tax...catch 22.

I fully agree, if you're looking for the best price, Max cannot be beat. But if you're looking for an alternator performance upgrade, you can't go wrong w/ PA-Performance.
