Rear Air Bags? Check Air Ride System :(

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: mespock

Ok, this had been a bad month already.

First my Mark VII springs a leak in the front bags.

Today my Mark VIII has a problem with its rear air bags.

When my wife went to the car tonight I noticed that the rear end seemed to be a little high.

Then she can back into the house and anounce gues what, the car says check the air ride system.

I've been searching but haven't found any threads.

#1 What should I do to lower the rear air bags?
And
#2 what might be wrong?

Don't be so quick to convert. 99.8% of the time, it is an easy DIY fix. Check out my post on LOl.

I'm on LOL but can't find your post unless you are Nick -

If it doesn't lower, it can be a problem venting with the air spring solenoids (seems unlikely if both are up high), rear height sensors, or perhaps the vent valve on the compressor. The vent valve may have built up corrosion preventing free movement and is thus keeping the rear from venting properly. I don't remember where to find the self test for the VIII, but you should run it and it will help you narrow down your possible faults. I do know that the problem shouldn't take more than a day to find and to correct.

I've been searching for Viper8Ltr
