Air ride question

Hey guys,

I was standing outside today and i heard my suspension start to pump up. Is that normal? I was under the impression that it wasn't supposed to run unless the car was on. Thanks in advance

Dmaup

no, thats normal (well kinda) the suspension computer stays on for around 2 hours after the car is shut off to maintain vehicle "parked height" so it kicking on is "ok"...................but in my mind, it means that there is likely a small leak causing the comp to come on to maintain height

It could be a leak, or like where I live its REALLY getting cold out. When I dive to work, ambient heat of the car heats the bags. As the car sits, the air in the bags cools a lot and the car sinks.

also a poss, just like your car tires, hot air expands and cold air contracts

Thanks guys, I dont think the bags have a leak but i could be wrong. I was parked sideways on a hill and i think that caused it to level out. I just didnt think it was suposed to run after the car was off.

It will, and if you do have a leak and don't address it you too will be looking at a fried compressor, dead battery, possibly a toasted alternator, or any of those awful things. To verify, turn off the air ride switch and see if the car stays up.
