I got a letter in the mail the other day and it was about the speed control...Since I work at a Ford,Lincoln,Mercury Dealership I just dropped it off this morning and it took them 3-4 hours to get it done, when some old lady pulled up next to me,they popped her hood and disconnected it in less than 5 mins...geez..anyway,it took the guy 2 hours to find it and he unplugged it.

They said it would be 4-6 weeks before the parts were in and for me to bring it back.

Just thought I'd ask around and see if anyone else did the same thing...or did i get myself into something?

Yes, we all got one. I am just going to hold off until the proper parts to actually fix the problem arrive.

Yep, me too!

Yeah, received the letter too but going to wait until the parts come in even though they say to bring it in as soon as possible.

Do they just use state registration? I haven't gotten one yet.

My uncle's 93 Mark VIII caught on fire because of the speed control switch. I would get it disconnected asap this is not a joke.

Yep- They tried this on my 94 E-150 too. I plugged it right back in.

I was told just today that it would be December before parts are available and I would get another letter, letting me know when to schedule the appointment. They are soooo worried about the risk involved but I cant get a friggin headlamp bulb so I can see to drive at night...

I'm waiting for chickenviii to let me know when the part is available. I figure he'll be installing many.. LOL..

well being that the mark is my pride and joy i brought it to the service right away, sine i work there it was no problem, they told me 4-6 weeks till th part cam in.

Frat_man_du..i know how ya feel bout them headlamps, one of mine went out,and a week later the other went out,so i aimed my headlights low and ride around with the brights on...no flashes from others either I CAN SEE!!!

I got mine and I have an appointment set for this week.

Ill look to see if mine is leaking. Maybe that's why my cruise hasn't worked in a while...
