Vacation???

Where is everybody? You can't all be on vacation can you? I have been checking and there have been no new posts for a couple of days. I'm waiting to get my cd player installed in my 97 conti. I only have the "traditional" am/fm cassette player that came in the car. I am getting an actual head unit made for the conti (just didn't think I wanted to change the look of the head unit). It will have the 6cd changer in the trunk since my arm rests weren't made for a cd player. Getting everything and the installation for $600.00. Does that sound good? It is a brand new unit.

how much would it be to get a new armrest o.O? Cost me 400+ just on installation when I got an aftermarket headunit (pioneer) and the headunit itself cost me 250 plus 120 for the cd changer all in all I'm happy with it though I'm building a new system so i'll get a new headunit (another pioneer) So sounds like a fair price

$600 is the total cost installed. I don't really want the arm rest that would hold the changer as it takes up too much room. I keep both arm rests in the up position now.

sounds like your conti is a 6 passenger model is that correct? If so why not just install the cd changer in the bottom of the dash like they came on those models?

Don't know the answer to that one! Other than there is an ashtray and 2 cup holders at the bottom. From what I understand my headunit will be just like the one I have now except for the couple of buttons that control the cd player. Also can the one installed at the bottom of the dash hold more than one cd at a time?

i bought my jbl unit new in the wrapper on ebay for 15 bucks and got 2 working perfect clarion factory cd players for 60 bucks on ebay.the ford cable was 69bucks from dealer and a cd holder console was 10 bucks from an ebay store.install was simply plugging in the ford oem cable and moving 3 wires for the phone.
