I remember the late 90s, when Lincoln was soaring. Their new Navigator and LS models were the best selling models in the US, and gave a glimmer of hope to the US auto industry of catching up to the Germans.
Then Lincoln stagnated and at present, IMO, has no direction. Cadillac on the other hand, has taken the time to re-invent itself. Lincoln is just a rebadged Ford. At least GM has taken time to make new sheetmetal and interiors for its Lambda class of CUVs (e.g. Arcadia, Outlook, Enclave). Slapping a new grille with the same bodywork on a Ford should not be a Lincoln, yet it is.
The new rectilinear interiors I feel are ok, but will alienate a lot of buyers. What happened to the cockpit/dash of the Mark VIIIs? I loved those! So farsighted for their time.
I just hope Mullaly can turn things around instead of giving us this rebadged stuff. The MKS better be good.
