i just got back from getting sirius installed along with having them hardwire my radar and portable nav. i was a little surprised to find see that my steering wheel controls didn't work for the radio nor cd player. i have a 2001 with the 6 disk in the trunk and was just wondering if this is normal. i did a little research but i couldn't figure it out

pics would be nice

If you are using your factory headunit and your wheels controls worked before they messed with stuff, then they should still work now. They should only not be working if you got a new head unit.

yeah everything is factory. i got the sirius installed and hardwired along with the radar detector and nav unit hardwired. i just found out none of my lights work on my stereo part either. the temp control and clock are fine, but completely dark for my stereo. im hoping they forgot to hook something back up, but i don't know a damn thing about electronics like that

p.s. i also had them hook up the fm direct adapter where it plugs into the stock antenna location on the back of my stereo. don't know if this changes anything more then the fact they had to take my stereo out to install it, but i figured i would throw it out there

I have XM in my '05 and used the Audiovox adaptor ,made under a different brand name , and it all works fine .I also have the antenna inside mounted on the top of the dash just behind the flashing LED and reception is fine as well

sounds like they didnt reconnect all the harnesses behind the radio

yeah obviously all lincolns have a similar setup in recent years. of course, after i put in an aftermarket HU, the steering wheel controls are gone. funny thing is the A/C controls are too. hmph.
