I've done some searching, and I've seen mention of inserting Koni shock cartridges into the front airbags. I have not however found anything concluding whether it worked or not, and if it did how well it worked. Does anybody have some input on this?

Does anybody have an answer for this?

One of the vendors spoke of experimenting with this. I've heard no updates since.

It seems like a great idea. I'd just like to see more research, it's a little expensive to experiment with.

It's a great idea, and one that I wish someone had an answer for. My understanding is that all of the "remanufactured" airstruts are simply used struts with new rubber air bags. As they cars get older, I fail to see how those old struts could possibly be worth a damn. Fortunately, I replaced mine with new Motorcraft ones last time.
The best person to direct this question to would be 'Bluecollar', he's the owner of American Air Suspension. He may have some insight to offer.
