I didn't see the 1987 Buick Grand National GSX which had a top speed of 157 MPH faster than a Corvette of the same vintage, if I'm correct. Woluld that not qualify?

I don't think this deals with Top end just 1/4 mile times.

I noticed that my daughter's 2000 WS6 T/A holds a good spot @ 13.5. Is there a list for fastest fwd production cars? Based on hearsay, I heard that the 01 STS holds about 5th place on that list @ 14.8. That's a fair et for an ol' geezer 4dr.

Lincoln stopped building "speed machines" with the 55 model.
After that they were more influienced with making luxury vehicles.
In the late 40's and early 50's they were building cars that were considered fast for the period.
