My code scanner kicked out a bad air pump code. i failed inspection check engine light was on. I replaced the air pump and the same code is still there. any ideas i called ford and they said there isn't a relay, fuse or anything. Any ideas im lost. Now i keep blowing the fuse for the cooling fan. not sure if there related or not. I love my Mark but everythings a pain to fix. Brian

Hey man sry i didnt get back to u sooner. My harley decided to blow the starter so i've been working on that. So the code is P0412, Sec air injection sys switching valve A circ error.

Looks like you might have a bad switching solenoid. And don't call ford, because there are 2 fuses in the "AIR" system. Thermactor (30amp) fuse and an EAM monitor (10amp) fuse. Both are located in the Engine compartment fuse box. Thermactor supplies main power for the solid state relay box, and for the air switching solenoid. The pcm monitors both of these. It's prolly not noticing a changing in 02 sensor readings, after commanding the air pump on. It is also not noticing a wiring problem, so you just might have a bad air management solenoid. This solenoid ports engine vacuum to the air valves, allowing air from the pump to enter the exhaust system.
