The other day, my stock changer crapped out on me and decided not to read discs anymore. I found a good deal on the stock Alpine radio/6 disc changer. Will this be an easy crossover? I have a 2000 LS8

If you don't have the Alpine system in your car, I'm pretty sure it would be a different wiring harness, but I could be wrong.

different harness since, their will be a different amp to power the whatever number of speakers the alpine system had, i would go with an after market radio that can read mp3 cd's then theirs no need for a changer

I am pretty sure it works, because the guy who bought my 6 disk Alpine radio on ebay put it in an LS with a base radio. He said that he had to disconnect and connect the battery for and hour in order to get it working. He also said that there is an improvement in sound quality.
