HOT!! Brand New 2009 Lincoln MKS Interior Shots!

From LLN: "The Lincoln MKS has been hitting the test circuit pretty hard the past two weeks, and the spies at KGP Photography finally got close enough to a prototype to snap two revealing photos of its interior, along with some other close-up details.

The MKS' interior appointments include the requisite brushed metal accents, and a thick band of wood (or some approximation thereof) further adorned by a chrome strip that sweeps across the entire interior.

The creme-colored interior is crowned by a black dash top featuring some stitching effects that give a feeling of craftsmanship. From a materials standpoint, the interior looks like a solid effort, but the design looks a bit dated when compared to Cadillac's new CTS. It appears that Lincoln is trying to recapture the Town Car ambiance, in a slightly more contemporary guise. "

I think they did a nice job of implementing the prototype's interior. Looks classy.

The headlights are straight from the Euro Mondeo though- I wonder if they will go Euro on Lincoln like GM is doing with Saturn, not a bad thing IMO.

It looks alright. I bet it's one of those cars that'll grow on you.

I think it's better than the MKZ interior IMO.

I guess the question is, how will it stack up against the 2008 Cadillac CTS and STS interiors?

First pic is the new CTS interior (too much cheap looking chrome IMO).

Next is the 2008 STS, which looks terrible IMO.

Best looking is the Chinese 2008 Cadillac SLS (3rd pic).

Who is designing the Lincolns now? Are they 80 years old?

Motortrend did a story on the MKZ (crossover) a few weeks ago and said that Lincoln is trying to design for a younger crowd, but that thing is ugly. MKS (Maxima-wannabe?) looks too Japanesey on the exterior and too 1980's with the interior. I think the new BMW, Infiniti, and Cadillac interiors are the best designs there has ever been.

I really wanted to get another Lincoln too further down the road. Looks like our LSs will the best there is for Lincoln sedans until the get rid of their designers and hire some new talent.

Do you really think it looks worse than the Caddy STS interior (see middle image)? Perhaps the redesigned CTS is slightly better, but at least the pieces on this flow together better than on the STS, where the parts look incongruously tacked on.

BMW certainly is the king, no doubt.

Personally, I don't care for the BMW interiors. Of the bunch posted above, the Cadillac interiors look very nice.

Yep, have to agree with that! Why can't Ford design something like that for Lincoln???

It's a kill switch for the PCM; apparently, it's standard equipment for test vehicles with the electronic throttle. Test cars don't have complete programming, and are missing important things like the ETC failsafe code, so you need a way to kill the engine if something goes wrong.
