I have a 50" Toshiba DLP 720p. I went the 720 route for a few reasons. They're a lot cheaper, I don't sit very close to the TV (about 10 feet) and I don't have any 1080p sources. HD cable looks amazing. The only gripe I have with the TV is the fast motion graininess and blur you get, most noticeable on sports. But I was at Best Buy and Circuit City a few days ago w/ a buddy of mine (he's getting a 42" plasma) and I noticed motion problems with most of the TV's there. My HD cable box has DVR too, and man do I love it. I don't know how I lived without the DVR. I use it all the time.
Joey: How do you like the HD-ILA? I was looking at a lower end model briefly but I read bad reviews about bulb problems and JVC's lack of customer service, so I steered clear. I was also looking at an SXRD Sony (same display technology, LCoS) but it was a little more than I wanted to spend. |
