I'm just getting ready to make a 800 mile round trip in my Mark VIII for Thanksgiving and was wondering what the longest trip anyone has taken their Lincoln on.

I love these long rides in the VIII, it goes down the road so sweet and my back is still in great shape when I arrive!

996 round trip from here to Baton Rouge, LA. Awesome.

With 160,000 miles went to Colorado and back this summer about 2000 total miles.

With 165,000 miles about 3 weeks ago I took it to Ohio and back about 1000 miles.

I have over 170,000 now love driving the Mark VIII.

Longest trip in A Lincoln was 2800 miles r/t in the '82 LTC/SS Summer 1995.(San Antonio,TX to Chula Vista CA & Back)* 2nd longest, was 2400 miles (Warner Robins,GA to San Antonio,TX & back.)Summer 2002, '94 Continental/SS. Longest in current '97 was 1200 mi (WR,GA to Hudson,Fla). Sept.2004.
* What was really cool about this trip was 3 Lincolns were involved in the TX to CA trip. My best friend, at that time had an '82 Mark VI (Black) was moving back to Tx after finalizing his divorce and he needed help moving back. His Cousin Cleveland had an '86 Mark VII LSC (Charcoal) Drove out from Austin to help out too. I'm sure somebody must have thought the mob was shootin down I-10 east with 3 dark colored Lincolns, in tight formation and all 3 having Texas tags. (He wasn't in Ca but 4 mos and he just got his new TX. tags weeks before he left SA.)
BTW, best of all, the trips in my Lincolns it was the driving that made the vacation!

22,000 miles nonstop.

Perhaps I should explain: bought the Mark VII, got new tires, drove around the United States in about 4 months.
