Anyone seen this before?

I saw a suv late lastnight, Im not sure what it was but its turn signals were "NUTS!" The headlight turning lens flashed and the bumper lens dimed, then the bumper lens flashed and the turning lens dimed, it kinda flip floped but when it finsihed turning they both stayed on.???

Anyone seen it before, I got an Idea for the LS if I can figgure out how its done.

No it was nuts as in realy cool.

This sounds like a fairly common turn signal setup where the front and side turnsignals alternate. I could do some research to see which cars, but I think a lot of Fords do that. The dimming is actually the turn signal part of the bulb turning off while the marker side stays on. So the bulbs are dual filament types.

That would be cool, I just thought it looked nice. I was at work late with a anoying customer and was realy tired by the time I left but I think it was actually a Escalade. I have seen glimsess of it before on tuner cars on tv comercials and stuff, but never cared much till I seen it in person.

Simple relay job. I've seen what you speak of around as well, but for the life of me I can't think of what make/models the SUV's were.

Posted by: NickLS

There is/was some guy around here that did that to another one of his cars.. Except he added a led strip along where the trunk meets the bumper and added a relay to have the "Kit from the Night Rider" effect

Posted by: Eliot_Ness_Ls

Yes Frogman, a relay job but I cant figgure out what I need.

Nick, your talking about the chaser type. Kinda like some X-mass lights. I would like to set up two rows of LED's for my bumper lights about 5 or 6 long but I dont want them to chase.

But I would have to try to match em up with other LEd's in my other lenses.

Sent Ray a PM, I'm sure he can answer that question off the top of his head.

I dont care what anyone says Frogy your the sh!t. Thanks.

i want to say its a ford model car.. i've seen it alot,, but im not exactly sure how your going to get them both to stay on at the end.. unless they both turned on as breaking lights..

Thanks. . I don't either.

I think Suburbans and maybe other Chevys have that.

I did something like that with the rear reflector strips on my old Stratus, for the turn signals

Posted by: Eliot_Ness_Ls

Owlman, I give props for that! I cant imagine doing mine like that but that does look good.

Oh that just reminded me of something. In the 2006 ULTIMATE WHEEL & TIRE BUYERS GUIDE, there are these wheels like that and you can program a message to scroll on them while they spin.

Its chevys My S10 did this It had a turn signal in the corner of the headlight and then it also had solid yellow lights the also blinked (alternet), Ive always wanted to get yellow fog lamps and was also wanted them to blink with the blinkers, IDK just though it would be cool and different

I thought of this as well, my uncle had a trans am back in the day that he transfered a bumper on to wich made him actually have to turn fogs into the turn signals.
