crazy problem

ok, i have 2 yellow top batt 1 batcap 400 and a 200 amp relay and 200 amp alt. now i was playing my system with the car off for a while. now i start my car up and when im playing my system real loud for about 5 min it just shuts off and the traction control and airbag lights come on then go off and the system starts back up. is it because my batteries are low and need time to charge up?

Have it tested first. I had similar problems as this and was told about a bad ground, check the terminals for corrosion as well. They may need to be cleaned and have a protectant sprayed on them.

but its been playing for like 2 months but now all of a sudden it starts this.

Hey things have to happen at some point. Trust me test it and look for corrosion.

hey my batteries went dead this morning first i had used my remote start and went outside put the key in and then i hit my seat memory button 1. and then my traction control light came on. so i looked and my lights were dimming so i turned my car off and then tried to start it up and all i got was clicking but my stereo was still working. so i turned the car off and went back in the house came back tried to start again got nothing and now my stereo wasnt even coming on so i had the guy tow my car to my alternator place. i had the tow guy put it on his jumper box and my batteries wasnt even showing no i mean no voltage. what could be the cause of this i mean my batteries was dead no voltage. now i did run my car all month with my stereo on and the car off like off and on and then blasting it everytime i go somewhere but man was my alternator charging it back up. i have 2 jl audio 1000/1 2 jl audio 12w7 and 1 300/4 2 yellow top 1 batcap 400 a 200 amp alt.

Sounds like your alternator isn't charging the batteries making the batteries run on their own which killed them. Yank the alternator and have it tested at AutoZone for free.

You might have damaged the battery doing that stuff to it, I dont kow did you check the terminals and all?

my terminals are clean and this is my second alt i blew if its bad also i had played my system for an hour and a half with it pretty loud with my car off then i cranked it and turned it up real loud as i was driving so the alt place said it put a lot of strain on my alt so it blew cuz it couldnt handle charging the batts fast enough and i was still blasting the system so i want to say its the at but it could be somethin else

Nah, dude you cant do that kinda stuff. Its gunna ruin something if its the ALT or the battery

yea man i know but i forgot how much power i was drawing so i learned my lesson but i know i might of

ed up my alt

yeah it was my alternator. it was fried.

haha you mean you were pounding those subs and had the screeens running with the car off? thats gotta be horrible for the electrical system hahahah

haha i try and not let my system max out for more than 5 songs and when i'm stopped at stop lights i rarely pound the sub, usually just turn it down because the rpms go down so much it just can't be good. just my .02 cents

yea i got a smaller pulley so could speed faster at idle
