V6-V8 Stang Mark I

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Now that my Lincoln is smashed up I have a 4V V8 with a couple mods on it and a built 4R70W that needs to live again. So I want to get a V6 2000 mustang and swap a motor and tranny in to it. What do you guys think? What would it take? I know I need a new rear end and I have to get the computer reprogrammed. But other than some clever handy work I don't think it will be that hard. Let me know if any one here has any experience with this.

why not try the 2.3L turbo motor out of a older Turbo Coupe or Mustang SVT?
that would make a cool project.

A very slow one too.

Last year I saw a 10 second turbo 2.3 TBird (Fox) wreck into the wall... with enough motivation you can make anything fast.

Not if done correctly. There are 9 second 2.3 liter turbo cars.

SVO, not SVT.

I think if you can pull it off, (the mark VIII motor swap into the stang) well you would have one heck of a cool car! Seems like lots of work though.

Sounds like a fun project... Do you have the Mustang body yet? Hmmm after you do this maybe I should get one for my daughter's 2000 mustang.

She's go a 6 banger... Would be nice to see that baby go.. but not with her in it.. LOL...

no im looking for the mustang right now. cant find what i want.

I have thought about the same thing. I have a 99 Mustang V-6 that the body and interior are in great shape but it has 150+k miles on it. My lincoln is in ok shape but nothing great. The problems I think I would run into is mostly the electronics issues. Trying to fuse the 2 wiring harnesses with all the sensors and computers would be a nightmare. Then I thought about going old school with a carb and distributor to avoid all the electronics but seriously doubt this would be possible. If you get good wiring diagrams, some patience, and ingenuity it might be possible. If it works let me know, I would be interested in how it was done.

im just going to use the lincoln comp and harness, we will see what happens.

Good luck!
