(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

i just stumpled upon this sweet 93 and i want to make it sound louder. i bought a dynomax super turbo muffler but it looks like a challenge to install. any advice on that installation? -AND- what else should i get/do? thanks.

Take it to an exhaust shop. An X pipe would go well also.

Well.. If you want it REALLY loud, then just cut the exhaust before the 3rd cat, and it will be loud.

Posted by: mark8

i think just loud will do for now...lol...what size x pipe?

Magnaflow 2.5 inch universal, you can get it from Summit Racing. Or buy the double x pipe from Lincolnmotorsport.com

just wondering

That would do it Frogman LOL....

allright! i did it. chopped mufflers and added straight pipes. sounds awesome! only set me back $60! (i know a guy) next, will go looking for rims!

Call me up. there on sale right now too, lowest prices ever.

Here ya' GO!!

Regarding that X-pipe size, 2.5" isn't the stock size, so you'll have to replace everything from the first cats back.

Or you can get a Magnaflow of Dynaflo muffler with a built in X-pipe and have a custom system fabricated at the exhaust shop

Or you can order one made specifically for the Mark VIII from LMS.

Despite what they will tell you at the local shop, 2.5" pipes WILL fit.

Has anyone measured the tail end of the cats, I swear its only two inches after those. Whatever it is, its smaller than stock and I think a major restriction point.... I removed mine Now I just need all new exhaust.

Can you put an x pipe on with the 3rd cat still there? The laws here are pretty strict and I want to stay legal.

I'll be getting the qx4 system as soon as Geno gets off his busy ass and gives me my quote!!!

LOL!

My 1996 Mark VIII has 3 cats and 3 mufflers. I cut the two mufflers off at the back bumper and ran straight pipes. It still has the resonator aft of the big cat so it still passes inspection here in NC. But it sounds awesome. The pipes only set me back $60 bucks at my local muffler shop. Not too bad for such a great sound. I am planning to post a sound clip soon. The sound is very unique and I have had many compliments on it. Not too loud, yet very aggressive tone.
