i just purchased this sweet little ride,it's real clean except for a bottom end bearing noise after it's run for awhile. does anyone know if this is an inherent problem did gm have a fix for this or should i start looking for a crate motor to replace it?
thanks wayne

gm came out with a new main bolt kit before the car even came out on production, i assume it has a 4.1?the motor was designed as a throw away,,the bottom end was a problem,1 good overheat problem and the lower end is prettymuch shot, for what you pay for the lower end kit you mite as well buy a creat motor,if you can find one,gm also advised to upgrade to the 4.5 motor, but with the same problem, you can fix it but you have to have the block machined to retro fit helie coils for head, main bolts.
hope it helps,i have one too with 82k,but im looking for a 4.9 to go in place of the 4.1.
