Are 97 Keys coded?

I have a 1997 Base model Mark VIII and I'm getting an alarm installed tomorrow and the prices are different if the key is coded or not, so i was wondering are the keys coded on these cars or are they just regular

yeah, encountered a similar issue with a remote start
