need help diagnosing transmisson problem

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

i got my lincoln almost 3 years ago, and i always had this problem:

the car virbrates/shakes when changing speeds i am assuming. most of the time it happens between 38-43 mph but sometimes it happens at higher speeds. it always happens when changing speeds. i dont know if the transmisson is slipping or if something else is possibly wrong. someone please advise.

Change the fluid with brand new Mercron V, if the problem continues reprt back for further analysis.

And dont forget to drain the torque convertor and FLUSH the trans cooler lines.

If you also have hard 1-2 shifts you may want to replace the 1-2 accumulator.

there is a chance that this may not be a tranny issue. you could use a rotation/balance/alignment. or new tires. but if it is a bad shudder. most likely low fluid or you need a flush. remember to stay alive use mercon V

you are describing the exact problem I had with my departed 93 Mark-change out the trans fluid for Mercon V, do the torque converter drain while you are there and do the 1-2 accumulator, it will feel like new-not a hard job, just messy.
