Can a C4 transmission be installed on a 1995 Mark VIII?

Hi
My trans is acting up slightly when the car idles below 1000rpms. I need to find out if a C4 transmission will fit this 32 valve engine. Any help in this matter will be appreciated. Has anyone here done this? If so where did you get your trans? I want to buy a new one from the factory.

why?

nothing wrong with the 4r70 if its treated properly.

Well guys are bolting them up to sohc's so i dont see why it wouldnt bolt to a dohc.

Its probably shorter than a 4R70w, so after you get an aftermarket driveshaft, it isnt worth it.

Why would you want to put 3-speed trany into your mark.You can put c4 in mark viii because c4 tranys have interchangeable bell housing.You'll have to get ford 4.6 modular bell housing for C4.
