The Best Tire Wheel Combo

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: GMAN

I know this has been hashed up many times before. It's just that I've been looking at all of these new sport vehicles like the Charger, 300C, Grand Prix and other vehicles are equipped with 18" and larger wheels. What would be a good combo size for the Mark to make it look beefier and sportier, but not ghetto?

Posted by: 02LSE96LSC91SE84TC

I like my set up. IMO its sporty and not ghetto.

Posted by: rmac694203

I think 18's look perfect on the Mark. If I had the money I'd prolly go with 18x9 rims with a 255 tire.

Posted by: MediumD

17-18, maybe a 19 if it's not loaded with chrome. Then again there aren't as many tire choices for 19s, and they tend to be more expensive.

Posted by: Stack

20's are coming stock on alot of stuff too!

20's out back and 19's up front

Posted by: turborich

18x8 up front 18x9 or 9.5 rear. With a nice beefy tire! Maybe black with a chrome or polished lip. Thats my 2cents.

Posted by: Jibit

I have these on my Mark in 20's. Mine are reverse though, black inside with chrome wishbones, the lips are still chrome. I think it looks good. Many people don't realize they are 20's. I think its all the chrome that makes it look ghetto.

245/45/18's all around look like they belong there to begin with.

The best combo is what makes YOU happy!
Ghetto aint cheap my friend.
Do what you like and get ROLLING!!!!

That's what I currently have on my mark.

Posted by: ONEBADMK8

Im so sick of Bullet and Cobra R style on the Marks, they look good and I have Cragars which are Bullets but IMHO this is THE HOTTEST set up I have seen yet on a Mark! LOOK AT THAT LIP!!!

Posted by: isaiah3g

I agree with ONEBADMK8 those are some niiiice wheels. I'm runnin Moda Rotela (somethin like that) 18's with 245/40 in the front and 255/45 in the rear, kinda has the sporty hot-rod look with the fatter tire in the rear, but to each their own when it comes to what they like. If i could have had what i wanted they would be the blank style wheels (the kind with NO design) with a deep lip on 'em,but i dont have the ca$h flow to buy those. there's my 2cents-of-nothin for ya lol...later guys

I could not agree more, that car is one of the nicest marks that I have ever seen. I like everything but the size of the wheels, I would go with 18"s instead.

Posted by: GMAN

Geno, I like those wheels on that Mark. Is that Mark lowered or is that the standard height? What are the wheel and tire size on that Mark?

Posted by: ONEBADMK8

I don't remember off hand. The guy who owns the car posted them a while ago and I snagged the pics. They are Ruff's but thats all I know. Porsche wheels rock on a Mark.

Posted by: isaiah3g

...hey..one more question,it's a lil off thopic,ok,its totally off topic, but how in the world did he paint the inside of his headlights? I took mine off the car and looked at it,and couldnt figure out how he did that...can someone let me know? You could pm me,that would be fine thanks

Here it is, its befor he got the 19"x9.5" wheels

Posted by: Scorpio1118_2000

Ok I just looked at it again and he s got 20"x10"s with 275/40/19s in the back, and 19"x9.5"s with 245/45/19s in the front.
This guy has got some steam rollers on that thing, but it looks good as hell and the home made front bumper(grnad prix bumper w/03 ranger foglights) is nice too

i love that car and every time i see pics it looks better and better. and its a grand am bumper the grand prix is too wide and would have to be sectioned drastically!!! i was gonna attempt to copy him but couldent get a grand am bumper in decent condition

Posted by: Scorpio1118_2000

There were a couple of threads on this car on www.markVIII.org.
And the one I saw said it was a grand prix, It does not matter to me either way I want that done to mine.

blue_t has created a very nice set-up, I love it.

If you're not looking for 20's check out brad's selection. "baggedtaco" here on the board. He offers a few styles in 18x9 with a +36mm offset that is perfect for the mark. His wheels are on mine, shown in sig. No rubbing, and... I don't know if it's considered 'ghetto' or not, but I get compliments from 10 year olds all the way up to guys in their 80's.

I'm running 255 40 18's up front and 275 40 18's in the rear. Love it. Good luck.

Posted by: isaiah3g
