steering loose, or jumping?!

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

About 2 months ago I converted my car to coilovers,

ever since then my steering has been acting werid at full turn. Whenever I have the wheel completly turned the car will jump, like it litteraly will go about 2 feet, then it feels like the car jumps a foot or two straight then start steering again?!

I dont know wtf it is but its kinda scary.

I knkow that isnt the best description so ill play it out LOL

ok,

start the car,

reverse out of driveway,

turn the wheel to the max left or right,

give it gas, and starts moving for about a foot or 2,

then loud thud and it jumps forword,

then grips back up and goes for another foot,

then the thud again.

it only does this when the steering is maxed out?

any ideas

did you get your car aligned afterward?

Posted by: Nitrobasher

yeaup, aligned, new tie rods, tires balanced. all of it.

I dont know wtf it could be! all we did was change out the suspension?!

Is your front end alignment still good?

Maybe the camber adjusting bolt has come loose. It's the one with the cam on it, that connects the lower control arm to the K member.

That happened to me once.

anyone else?

Check your brake calipers if you've messed with them.

Else... A new O2 Simulator might fix your problem.

Seriously, did you make sure everything is nice and tight? Did you play with the Lower Arm Strut?

hillarious

I dont remember playin with the struts or anything, but ill deff. Jack the car up and make sure all the bolt and everything are on snug.

the only thing i can think of is maybe the coilovers are shifting on that spindle thing whenever I move... hmmm

How are your tires... I had a similar problem. Its sound somewhat like what your describing and it was due to poor tires.

tires are brand new, they are a little rough around the edges because of a bad allignment but i dont think it would cause all of this

seems like it only happens when i first just start the car,
