Rear neon problem

The rear neon on my LSC only comes only when I hit the panic button please can someone tell me what the problem is?
I appreciate any help you can give me thanks.

neon ballast is bad.

You might notice is flashes when you hit the brake lights too, but it might one happen with or without the running lights on - I forget which. Can check eBay for a replacement ballast or I have a contact that may have one for ya.

Send me a pm with the info, Im glad someone answered this post.
Is it easy to replace? Do I have to do some cutting and soldering?
Im only asking cause I have not had the chance to really get my hands dirty with this baby yet.

I will send the info. I have a Gen 1 (1996) so I have not had a chance to play with the neon. Ask the person I am sending to you on, he will know.

The ballast is located behind the neon on the passenger side. If you open the trunk and remove the carpet from the trunk lid underside you should see it.
