here is the ebay auction and before i bought it i want to know if it is real and will it mess up my engine? has anyone ever heard of this chip be4 or does anyone on here use this chip? i find it hard to believe the chip will add 40more hp and that makes me wonder plus the fact that the title says 95-06 LS

I think it's BS. Just the fact that it says "Lincoln LS 95-06" is crap. The LS came out in 2000. Don't buy it.

To my knowledge, NO car with OBDII uses a "chip" any longer. The ECM has to be flashed.

In addition, the only time I've ever heard of a chip or flash giving THAT much of a gain, is when the chip or flash changes the amount of boost on a turbo powered engine. It is impossible for a chip or flash alone, to give a 40hp boost to a Lincoln LS.

Well SCT is not really a "chip", it is a tuner that can change the parameters in the PCM.

Don't tell Torrie with Ford parts that. He claims his SCT tune can give you more than a .5 second in the 1/4 mile....

Even Torrie doesn't claim 40hp--the claims of power gained solely from recalibration via the SCT XCal2 are more modest (less than 15hp, IIRC).

FWIW, the XCal2 by itself is good for no gains. Zip. Nada. Bupkis. It's the parameter alterations that are delivered to the PCM via the XCal2 that make the difference.

I could see it giving .5s in the 1/4 or at least close to that if youve got a few other things done to go with it. While it may not give you 40hp, getting across the line is about alot more than horsepower. And i know that with the race tune it gives you alot more kick when it shifts, and that will definately help out crossing that line as fast as you can.

i thin it is a resistor that tricks the pcm into thinking that the intake air is really cold. (like -40deg f) i don't think it does too much except make your pcm ignore the readings that it is receiving since the readings wont be consistent with the other sensors on the car.
