i put the perf. file 1 and the shift firmness at 1. at 4k rpms, i hear a knocking from the motor. is there a way that i can get this to go away as it is annoying?

Yeah. dynotune.

It sounds like the motor is detonating at those Revs.

Stop putting the car into detonation immediately! First, make sure you are running a high quality premium fuel. If you are now, then you aren't going to be able to run that tune. You might need to get a custom tune from someone like Torrie and have them work with you.

+1 - go back to stock tune and make sure you are running 93+ octane.

Then work with your tuner - they can adjust the tune.
