New LS owner, serious doubts about LS

Hi, my name is Joe. I just bought a 2003 LS V8. It's a really nice car, but four days after buying from the guy, the check engine light comes on, and the dealer had to replace some coil packs. I don't know if this is common or now. Should I be concerned. The car stinks really bad when sitting in park at an idle. Any help would be appreciated.

Common issue. Do a search on coils and you'll find a whole lot of info.
