Lincoln, Mercury, Izuzu ?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

I was sitting in the lobby of my local Lincoln dealer when i hear the front desk lady answer the phone "Central Florida Lincoln, Mercury, Izuzu". That threw me for a spin. The sign out front only says Lincon/Mercury. And to think of it, i didnt even see any Izuzu vehicles on the lot. Since when is Izuzu part of FoMoCo's high end lineup?

It's not. Isuzu's big partner is GM (their pickups are rebadged GMs), but your dealer may also own an Isuzu franchise.

at my local Lincoln dealer, the sign out front says Lincoln Mercury respectively and a Jeep sign on the other side of the entrance. When they answer their phone they say ''Lincoln Mercury Jeep''.

I live near Chrysler-Lincoln-Mercury, Ford-Jeep, Pontiac-Cadillac-Nissan, and Buick-Chevrolet-Toyota dealers. It's a pretty common thing in smaller areas..

I almost bought my LS from a Lincoln-Mercury-Hyundai. On their website they used to have a banner with some horrid caricature Santa Fe-Navigator-Mountaineer hybrid vehicle

We have the Ricart Megamall here in Columbus, Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Hundai, Kia, Nissan, Chrystler, Jeep. Ricart also has a Chevy dealership here in town too.

When I lived in Clarksville TN, there was a Ford-Isuzu dealership there too.

FWIW, the current Blue Oval passenger car/light truck brands are, in order of inception/acquisition:
* Ford
* Lincoln
* Mercury
* Aston Martin
* Jaguar
* Mazda (majority owner)
* Volvo
* Land Rover
With the exception of Mazda, Ford owns the brands outright. Ford owns a controlling interest in Mazda, and owns only Volvo's passenger car business.

Do they have to pass a telephone certification test to answer the phone? "Thank you for calling Columbus Megamall Ford, Lincoln, Mercury, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, Kia, Nissan, Chrystler, Jeep_" <gasping breathe> "_How may I help you?"
