Directional mirrors?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Something has happened to my driver's side mirror glass. It has 2 or 3 chemical stains that vary in position. One day they are here, the next day they are somewhere else, and anything seen in that mirror looks orangish.

I took a look on ebay and found a cheap 20 Dollar mirror glass replacement. However, I thought it would be nicer to have directional mirrors, i.e. mirrors that have a little arrow made of red LEDs and that flash whenever you use the turn signal. Some SUVs have these.

Has anyone ever heard of this or done this on a 99 Eldorado and if so, where would I get this?

The orangeness you're seeing is the fluid in the mirrors that's supposed to make them be able to dim. I've never seen or heard of those mirrors for an Eldo. It would have to be a custom job or I suppose you could find some of the arrow parts on ebay or something and tack them on.

Customizing would be too much of a hassle and probably too expensive. I'll just get the 20 Dollar mirror glass in that case.

Is it a simple job to snap off the old glass and snap on the new one or is there something I need to know about?
