Can anyone help me with this problem? It's a 95 Mark VIII. When the car is locked and the key is inserted into the the lock to enter the car, the alarm goes off...it will not deactivate until I let it run itself down, about 5 minutes, or disconnect the battery cable. Very annoying, especially, when you do it the way the manual says and it still won't work...can I disconnect the alarm system permanently? The car is 12 years old, who would want to steal it? Thanks for the help.

I believe the Keyless Entry Module is located behind the Glove Box on this model. I would try unplugging it to see if that helps. Like you mention, you can do without it.
