I've never done one. Typically it's said that diligent work for a first timer will get it done in one weekend. A common claim is that the hardest part is actually installing the pedals. I will be getting all of the conversion parts on Saturday, so when I get around to it you are more than welcome to run down here and look over my shoulder/help/pester/whatever to get more familiar with it.

its easy.

basically this is what you have to do.

84-89 lincolns - mustang 5spd pedals bolt right in
90+ lincolns have to modify the top of pedal assembly, no big deal

cut a hole in firewall for cable to run (already has a stamped circle u use)

cut a hole in tran tunnel for shifter

take that aod junk out

install 5spd/tranny/clutch/cable as you would any fox stang

put in your custom driveshaft (get a one piece aluminum..like out of a crown vic or aerostar cut and balanced to 58.5" from mounting flange to tranny seal

go have fun

YES, BIG DIFFERENCE AND ALOT OF FUN.

any specifics, feel free to ask. If your gonna race or run a higher hp motor, get a tremec.
