Differences between various 4.9L engines?

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Posted by: occupant

IIRC, the 4.9L PFI engine was used in various forms from 1991 to 1995 in DeVilles, Fleetwoods, Eldorados, and Seville.

What differences are there between the 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, and 1995 models, and what all is different between the DeVille/Fleetwood and Eldorado/Seville models, if anything?

I'm looking for a donor vehicle for a powertrain swap into my Celebrity. Missed out on a free 1992 DeVille engine but no transmission. Hoping I can find something similar soon, but the only WHOLE cars I've found for sale that would work are Sevilles, and I want to be sure they aren't too much different than the DeVille motors...

I can say one thing, 1995 models probably have different computer programming because isn't that the year they went to a half-assed OBD II (1.5 maybe) system?
