What does the TPS control?

Would the TPS make the car sputter at high RPM (4500 and up)?

94 lincoln Mark VIII with 150,000 mile new tranny at 148,000.
New MSD coil pack last year, New Ford Racing wires and plug wires two month ago.

TPS is abb. for throttle position sensor. Did you change your plugs?

You didn't change both packs at once?

I did change both packs.

It could, but most likely not. Fuel filter? Fuel Pump? Fuel pressure regulator? I guess I am getting at a fuel problem At high RPM fuel is more often the cause. Across all RPMs it can be a number of things. Do you have a way of checking fuel PSI while driving? Should hold around 32-40 at all times.

Other possibilities are the coil packs, new does not mean perfect. I chased a problem for almost a year and found out it was the NEW coil packs I had put in, one failed within a month or two of installation.

I check the fuel pressure saturday and everything is good.At WOT the fuel went up to 40 psi and did not move.

Iam going to look into the coil packs.

With that mileage I will guarantee that its the pump and filter.

Pump was replace last year and filter was replace last summer.

Then yes, please check the packs if you have the old ones. One can also do a test with an ohm meter, but I found that to be useless and unreliably unless checking regular coils.
