1988 Eldo - Digital dash issues

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

Hey guys,
I have a 1988 Eldorado Biarritz with a problem. A coolant hose burst on me, spraying the engine compartment (especially the driver's side front) with hot coolant. The moment this occurred, my digital dash went out and has not worked since. All the fuses check fine. I can still brighten my lights and the hi-beam indicator still shows. My information console still has the buttons lit, but no information shows ... it still does periodically light up telling me to check information center, but nothing to see of course. The car runs fine, hvac still functions, etc... but I have no idea my speed, rpms, temp, fuel, etc... kinda flying blind there ya know. Wondering if anyone has any ideas beyond changing out the entire instrument cluster.

try diconecting the intrument panel and dry it out, look for the slightest bit of watter and look for shorts on the connections.

ck the wires going to yr starter, the primary feeds for the car runs from there,if one is burnt ive seen them burn in to, and unless you pull them you wont know they are bad.they can burn inside the coating.gm bad for that one forsure
