My Mark VIII Lost

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

So me and my friends were coming back after watching a movie. We raced a bit which I always won. (he has a grand prix) So he took his exit and then their it was, Mustang SVT with an exhaust I guned my car to get his attention but he didn't do anything for a few seconds and then bam, I heard his Supercharger and his REALLY loud exhaust. I tried to catch him up but he was about 10 car lenghts from me. So I caught him up at about 110 MPH. I gave him a`thumbs up and told him to go one more time. We went from 70 MPH to who knows what. I had him for a few seconds but after 80 MPH, I heard his SC (man his exhaust was loud) and he was ahead about 10 car lenghts when I hit 105 MPH. Man it was a fun. BTW I had 3 people including me. His was a Mustang SVT convert. with the driver only. I wish he knows I had a cobra motor.

You don't have a Cobra motor in that Mark VIII. The Mark VIII has the Mark VIII motor in it. Alternately, the Cobra has the Mark VIII motor in it, (yes, with a few changes), seeing how the cobra got that motor three years AFTER the Mark VIII did.

I always get people who say to me "hey, you got that Cobra motor in that Lincoln, right?" I tell them "no, I have the mark VIII motor in it", then I proceed to explain to them when the Cobra first received the 4.6 DOHC.

Unless ofcourse, ou actually have an SVT 4.6 motor out of a Cobra under the hood of that Mark....

yup. sounds about right with my GF driving the cobra. that car just runs away from the mark.

Debi, here is a link that shows quite a bit about the M8 as well as the rest of the Modular motors. http://sullivanperformance.com/YVS450/tech/tech.htm

that link isnt completly accurate.

i dont understand why they are saying the 3.9 is a modular engine. visuallly it doesnt share much with the others.

the 4.6 SOHC DOES have an aluminum block available in factory vehicles. they state its never been cast in aluminum.
