I HAVE BEEN NOTICING MY RIDE SEEMS HARDER,AND STIFFER IN THE REAR,AND WHEN A BUMP..IT MORE OF A HARDER THUMP!LOL!!
IM THINKIN IF ITS THE SHOCKS IN THE BACK..KEEP IN MIND I HAVE LOW PRO SHOES ON..SO IM NOT SURE IF ITS JUST ADD MORE AIR,OR CHECK THE SUSPENTION..SHOULD MY CHK SUSPENTION LIGHT COME ON IF IT'S MY SHOCKS N THNGS? SO FAR NO LIGHTS OR WHISTLEZ YET

does the "thump" sound like someone smacking the bottom of the car with a hammer? that's the sound mine made when the rear shock mounts were worn out.
no, the shocks wont cause the check air suspension message.

trust me, you'll know when the rear shock mounts need replacing, it's a very noticeable noise on every bump. To test it out, you can get into your trunk, take the carpet out from over the shock mounts (easy to do) and rock the car up and down. If the car moves, and the shock doesn't (ie, stays in place sticking straight up through the hole while the car moves around it) then you need new shock mounts.

ooh thanks.. i figured that bouncin the car or shakin it side to side..that trick i know..but when riding youll know somethings up.
i'll look into it.

Same problem, Rear left, Whats involved in replacing them?!

Posted by: poniesviii

Open the trunk, remove the nut and put the new one on. Put the nut back on, fold the carpet back, shut the trunk.

Thats it??! Are you serious?!

Along with the nut on the shock, the mounts are also held to the body with 2 nuts.

Remove all 3 nuts then compress the shock (or remove it) and pull the mount out from the bottom and then pull it off of the shock.

I've heard some women like those symptoms. Harder, stiffer, thump, bump, rear.

all of these methods sound simple, but mine were seized and took a long time to remove , with a mechanical advantage accelerator.
