removing political posts from...

(Click here to view the original thread with full colors/images)

hey... just a suggestion. Is it possible to remove political posts from the main page (in the most recent posts section)? I mean, it's not bad or anything... but it seems to me that a majority of the time... political posts are always at the top of the list (opposed to caddy/linc related topics) and not alot of people really like to get into it, ya know?

having a seperate forum for it is great... but giving it any extra publicity isn't that good of an idea in my honest opinion. It seems to get pretty ugly in there sometimes.

like I said, it's just a suggestion. This site will still rock if you decide to do it or not

-Steve

I don't think there is. But I would rather have more lincoln topics then political posts. Because this is a linc/caddi site. But seems to me that past few months there has been more and more off topic threads. . .

I'm guessing that after next week this will die down, and then it won't be an issue to worry about.

I agree and have heard others complain of the same thing but like you guys said, it should die down in about a week or so. Unless Bryan doesn't get his way, then we're screwed!

I agree. I'll check with Joey to see what can be done.

In the beginning Joey and I talked about a pay per view feature for the political forum. Not really pay, just have to sign up for a seperate forum and sign a form giving us your 1st child.

Like I said, good idea. It does bother me that the New post page would be filled up with the political forum. I myself don't like that.

Again, we'll see what we can do to change that. Maybe it will simply be a password type thing. Joey knows the software. I don't know ...k.

Thanks for the ideas and your support.

I dont want anyones kid - Ill take cash thank you.

I can do 2 things - make it so you have to sign up for it - or - make it members only.

Trouble with either is that New people and visitors wont see it, know it exists, or have access. Plus I imagine the political forum will slow down after the election, so this problem may very well take care of itself a bit.

If GW loses Bryan is moving to Canada I think

"If GW loses Bryan is moving to Canada I think" Being next to RRocket would be a fate worse than death, eh!

You guys are so wrong.

I'll sit back and watch the fireworks.

The economy will continue moving... If you want to read the rest, let's take this back to the political section.

I don't know Joey. Every site I have been on, when they have a properly functioning political forum, ie: NO PERSONAL ATTACKS, it is always one of the most highly viewed and highest posted forums.

I think we should look at a long term solution. I need more time to turn all these minds to the RIGHT way of thinking. My job is not done. I will not leave my post unguarded.

I am sure you could put up on the Home Page a link to the Political Section with a sign-in. That would work for all.

And what's wrong with kids Joey? I'll loan you one just so you can refresh yourself with the smell of a newborn diaper load. LOL.

Nothing is wrong with kids - kids are totally cool - when they are someone elses kids.... I just like being able to get up an go wherever I want whenever I want and not having to pack that diaper bag first.

Posted by: MonsterMark

Hey, that bag helps pick up the chicks. All you have to do is act like you don't know what you're doing. Make sure you give your boy lots of fluids in advance so she gets a nice little shower when dropping his trousers.

Posted by: SC_Steve

that's actually very true

anytime I take my nephews out to chucky cheese or anything, I get alot of attention from the ladies. Not enough reason to have one though

Posted by: Joeychgo

I do fine looking dumbfounded at the grocery store

Posted by: Katshot

The grocery store is the BEST!

lol

I agree that the traffic in the political forum should die down after the election. I for one plan on taking a break from the political scene when it's clear who our next president will be. I can't wait til it's over.

Posted by: MarkedMan

At last someone speaks out.I thought I was the only one who was tired of all the political posts.I get tired of checking out the site when all I see is political posts.

Posted by: CaptainZilog

I wonder if you could make a preferences page where we could select the categories we don't want to see?

Posted by: mach8

The worst of it is the important questions haven't been adressed.

Are Bush and Kerry Lincoln guys or Cadillac guys

If we went to Iraq for oil, where is it? Why are gas prices so high?

Do either of these rich, ivy league, skull and bones frat boys ever put the pedal down?

These would be proper political topics for this site.

good point!
