What rpm do you launch at?

Hey guys, I just bought an 03' Lincoln LS, and love it, last night I raced my friend's 02' Pontiac GTP, won 3 times, but he was launching, and had TC off. I left my Traction Control ON and just stepped on it @ green. Do you yield better results by launching and turning TC off? Keep in mind I have the stock tires, and don't want to sit there spinning them. So I'm wondering how you guys launch, and whether or not you use Traction Control when you're racing?

Traction control off will keep the motor from de-tuning which can kill the launch more than spinning sometimes. Just standing on it is a good way to take off, bringing the rpms up a little against the brake will get you out a little better. To much brake rev doesn't seem to work well with these cars. I've found that anything over 1500 seems to result in a bad 60'. This is with about 20 timed passes on my car. Good kills on the GTP, there all about the launch.

power breaking should give you better results. more so since the 03`s are throttle by wire. the power breaking should get rid of some of the delay u get when u floor it. power breaking simply means to push the gas and break at the same time, ( not flooring ) and get the rpm`s up to about 1500 i think; just at that limit before you start doing a burnout. then just let off the break when its time to go. you should get better results doin this. the last time i had my ls at the track, i had to leave my tc on because i was just spinning but i haven`t been back since i got new tires and they supposedly put some trackbite down. since you are on the street, u shouldn`t have to worry about that. and with doin this i got 2.2 60' times with tc on.
