Ford Techs and Gurus 8.8 C-clip issue

So how does one remove the C-clip over the "S" spring in a Trac-loc carrier? So far I have removed an O-ring in the slot and the C-clip wiggles and jiggles in the cut out on the axel. (the axel has been pushed in all the way)
I have bumped the spring to where it sits furthest out and should allow the lip of the C-clip to just make it over the edge of the "S"-spring. NO such luck!!

Is there some sort of "english" to put on the clip to get it to drop out? Yes I have been using a magnet and yes, I have the '92 manual open to the rear diierrential info. The picture show an open diff, far more easier to get the clip out.

Its easy. Rotate the axle until you see the two ends of the clip. Take two screwdrivers or whatever kind of device you'd like to use, push on each end. They pop right out. Sometimes they can be a little tricky, just use finesse.
