I am in dire need of a measurement. I would like to know how much clearance there is between the oil pan and the K-member.

We put a Cobra High Volume Oil pump in the motor, but there are two teeny problems.

1. The pick-up tube is bigger than the OEM mark VIII pick-up tube. We aleviated that problem by slightly bending the tube so it will fit in the oil pan pick-up tube baffle.

2. Since the tube is a little bigger on the OD side, we need to flatten outout the passenger side of the oil pan where it rides over the K member. And we don't know how much clearance there is to begin with between the pan and the k member. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks much.

IIRC, there is roughly 1/2-3/4" clearance. I would crawl under and look to be sure, but mymarks are 900 miles away. hope this helps.

Thanks Mike.

We flattened the indented side of the pan a bit, hopefully it will work

I would have uploaded some pics, but amazingly, there is an upload limit size of 140 some odd K. Postage stamp sizes.

Yea I know. I've been yelling about that for a long time. Outside hosting source maybe? I know for a fact this project would be worth the time required.
