I am returning the Explorer monday morning so i'll definately have an answer by monday afternoon. And another side note, my LS V8 gets about an average of 19ish mpg after around 500 miles. The '06 Explorer i have is averaging 17.8 mpg over 460 miles so far, with alot of city driving. Its not the worst mileage but i dont think the bad rap that SUV's get are all that big a deal. Its a 4 wheel drive too which i think drops the mileage a bit. All in all the '06 Explorer has been a pleasure to drive so far. Not on par to the LS but for my first SUV experience i am impressed.

Actually, brake pads and rotors were covered under warranty on my 2003 (as distinguished from 3-year free regular maintenance). I know this because I and other 2003 LS owners had brake jobs done for free!
I checked the 2005 warranty guide and now those items are expressly NOT covered. ![]() |
